This week’s Disquiet Junto prompt was: “You’re now recording music under the name Dense Fog Advisory. Record a new track, appropriate to your name.” I immediately imagined a very low sound, dropping in pitch (probably evoking a foghorn) accompanied by a tinkly arpeggio. I knew I wanted the overall sound to blurry and foggy with wobbly synths, white noise, and shifting arpeggios. The low horn melody came next, and then the piece structured itself into a straightforward ABA, except the tinkly arpeggio changes meter in every new section. Not bad for a couple of days! I think I might like to tweak this and release it at some point.
