Let's Make Ambient Chiptune a Thing!
Hey there! I'd love for you to give my new track a listen; it's called "Across the Crystal Fields," and it uses ambient, chiptune, and dungeon synth sounds to tell the the story of a wasteland wanderer trying to survive a journey across a frozen, crystalline landscape.
I'm calling it "ambient chiptune" because "fake videogame music" doesn't actually seem to be a genre (yet!?!)

Spotify users, you can stream it here:
And Bandcamp users, you can enjoy it here:
And here's the exceedingly goofy video I posted on my socials to promote my new song:
(turns out everyone loves a good goof)
I've been having a lot of fun making little imitation videogame footage to go along with it and posting it on my socials. As a lifelong sap for fantasy and D&D, I am REALLY enjoying worldbuilding and hinting at it through pixellated animations:
I think I'd love to do more of this in the future, but I need a more efficient way to do it than in Final Cut Pro (or, conversely, I need to learn Final Cut Pro better).
Thanks for your time - I hope you give it a listen, and I hope you like it!
